  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs Preferably room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F and prepare your 8x8 baking dish by lightly spraying it with cooking spray and lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, sifted cocoa powder, powdered sugar, dark chocolate chips, and sea salt; stir well.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, canola oil, water, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, careful not to over-mix.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 40 to 48 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  • Remove from oven and let cool in the pan before lifting out using parchment paper and cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve brownies as-is or with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
