Brownie Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed Make sure to rinse thoroughly
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted Bring to room temperature
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs Bring to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt
  • teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use the full amount for best flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper, using cooking spray to help the parchment stick.
  • In a blender, combine black beans, eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, melted butter, ground cinnamon, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and fold in half of the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the middle is set but soft to the touch, about 25 minutes.

Cooling

  • Let the brownies cool for about 30 minutes before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For variations, consider using different types of chocolate chips or folding in nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
