Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Sprinkle the salt and baking soda over the mixture and mix well.
  • Add the flour and stir until just combined.
  • Gradually mix in the oats until evenly distributed.
  • Fold in the chocolate chunks until evenly spread through the dough.

Baking

  • Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a greased or lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Let cookies cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened, not melted, to avoid flat cookies. Use both brown and white sugar for optimal flavor and texture.
