Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Scoop the dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon portions and arrange on a cookie sheet, ensuring space between each.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown on the edges.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened, avoid overmixing the dough, and chill the dough for thicker cookies. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for freshness.
