Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked sweet potato, mashed Provides moisture and natural sweetness
  • cup creamy nut butter (peanut, almond, or cashew) Adds richness and protein
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey Brings sweetness and moisture
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder, sifted Adds depth and chocolate flavor
  • a pinch salt (optional) Balances sweetness
  • as desired cups chocolate chips (optional) Adds sweetness and texture

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 7×7-inch brownie pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato, nut butter, and maple syrup (or honey) until smooth.
  • Sift in the cocoa powder and mix thoroughly until a thick and uniform batter forms.
  • Add a pinch of salt if using, then fold in chocolate chips, if desired.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, checking for doneness at the 20-minute mark.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into 9 squares.

Notes

Ensure sweet potatoes are well-mashed to avoid lumps in the batter. Use room temperature nut butter for easier mixing. Don’t overmix after adding the cocoa powder for a fudgier texture.
