Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set the bowl aside.
  • In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar for about 1 to 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract one at a time until fully incorporated.
  • Slowly mix in the combined dry ingredients until just incorporated. Do not over-mix.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  • Cover the dough tightly with plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop portions of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop.
  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the tops are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened, chill your dough, and space cookies adequately on the baking sheet. Consider adding nuts or different types of chocolate chips for variety.
